"The legend says that the devil once sought out Bowmore s church. However, as it was built in a round shape, he could not find a corner to hide from the gloating congregation of Bowmore. So he was chased to the gates of the Bowmore distillery, but when the residents searched the distillery buildings, the Devil disappeared from the face of the earth. He is said to have managed to escape to the mainland via one of the casks that were being filled at the time.

On the eye: Deep Mahogany
Breathe in: A cornucopia of rich, dark, exotic fruits, sultana, mango and rasin, fused with earthy angelica root and treacle toffee.
Sip: The smooth, rounded taste of date oil, chocolate fudge and salted treacle, warmed by orange-laced Aruba coffee.
