Note: William John Oliver, 1887-1954, began his photography career in 1910 as a newspaper photographer for the Morning Albertan and later the Calgary Herald. Opening the W.J. Oliver Photographic Studio in 1912, Bill Oliver went on to become one of Canada’s most well-known adventure, nature, and documentary photographers.
